NCAA Track and Field Championships 2018

What: NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Where: Hayward Field, Eugene.

When: The meet began Wednesday and concludes Saturday, with the heptathlon and most of the women’s event finals. Saturday’s schedule is below. Here is the entire, four-day schedule of events.

TV: On ESPN at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. It’s also being streamed on ESPN3 .

The skinny: Most men’s events will be contested on Wednesday and Friday, and most women’s events on Thursday and Saturday. … This is expected to be the final major competition held at 99-year-old Hayward Field. The stadium is scheduled to be demolished this summer, rebuilt and reopen in the spring of 2020. This will be the last of six consecutive NCAA Championships at Hayward. The meet will go to Austin, Texas in 2019 and 2020, and return to the new stadium in Eugene in 2021. … The Florida men and Georgia women are favored to win team titles, but the women’s competition should be close. Oregon, the defending women’s team champion, has a  realistic chance to repeat. … Oregon’s Sabrina Southerland, NCAA indoor champion in the 800 meters, is favored to win the 800 here as well.
